Guarantee and Call-Out Terms, in Plain Words

In short: every repair we do carries a 1-year workmanship warranty — 12 months on the parts we fit and the labour on that fault. The call-out is €79, credited in full against any repair you agree to. If we tell you the machine isn't worth fixing, you pay the €79 and nothing more. Return visits to fit ordered parts carry no second call-out charge. You pay on completion, by card, cash or bank transfer, and you get an invoice for every job.

Most repair firms hide the important stuff in small print. We'd rather put it on one page, in the open, where you can hold us to it. So here it is: what our guarantee actually covers, what the €79 call-out buys you, what happens when parts have to be ordered, and how to spot a repairer you shouldn't let through your front door — including the tests you should apply to us. We've been trading in Dublin since 1999, and everything on this page is the way we've worked the whole way through.

The guarantee, without the legalese

When we repair a fault, that repair is guaranteed for 12 months. If the same fault comes back inside the year — the same part fails, or the fault we fixed returns — we come back and put it right free. No call-out charge, no labour charge, no argument about it. That's the whole promise, and it's a workmanship warranty, meaning it covers the parts we fitted and the work we did on that fault.

What it doesn't cover is a different fault. If we replace your drain pump in March and the heating element gives up the following February, that's a new fault on an ageing machine, not a failure of our repair — we'd quote for it like any new job, though existing customers get the same fixed-price treatment and the same €79-credited call-out. It also doesn't cover damage from misuse — a machine overloaded until the drum gives out, or coins and bra clips left to chew through a new pump — and it doesn't promise that another component won't eventually suffer from limescale, which in the harder-water parts of Dublin is a slow process no single repair can stop. We think that's a fair line, and we'd rather draw it here, in advance, than at your door.

The €79 call-out: exactly what it buys

The call-out fee is €79, and it buys three concrete things. First, the travel — an engineer at your home, anywhere in Dublin 1–24 and the Fingal towns. Second, a full diagnosis: the machine tested, the fault found and proven, not guessed at. Third, a fixed price in writing before any work starts — the full parts-and-labour figure, so the decision is yours with the real number in front of you.

If you go ahead with the repair, the €79 is credited in full against it. It's not a fee on top of the repair; it's the first €79 of it. Most of our repairs land between €149 and €249 all-in, and the major jobs — drum bearings, motor, main board — run €279 to €420, and in every case you'll know the exact figure before we lift a tool.

The dead-machine promise. Sometimes the honest diagnosis is that the machine is finished — bearings gone on a twelve-year-old machine, a board failure on a budget model at the end of its life. When that's our verdict, you pay the €79 call-out and nothing more. No pressure, no "while we're here" upsell, and the verdict is yours in writing to take to any other repairer or to the shop when you go shopping for the new machine. We'd rather earn €79 and a recommendation than €300 and a grudge.

When parts have to be ordered

Most common parts are on the van or available same-day from Dublin suppliers. When a part has to be ordered in, we tell you the expected wait at the time — usually a few days — and we don't pretend otherwise. When the part lands, we return and fit it for the fixed price you already agreed. There is no second call-out charge for the return visit. The price we quoted is the price you pay, whether the job takes one visit or two.

How you pay

Payment is on completion, when the machine is running and you've seen it run. We take card, cash and bank transfer, and every job — every single one — comes with an invoice. For landlords and letting agents we can run account terms with invoicing to the office instead of the tenant, but the paper trail is the same: diagnosed fault, agreed price, work done, invoice issued.

How to spot a repairer you shouldn't use

People find this page searching washing machine repair scam dublin, so let's answer that search honestly. The pattern of a dodgy operator is always the same: no fixed price before work starts, just a cheap call-out and a figure invented once your machine is in pieces. Cash only, no invoice, nothing in writing. A warranty described in months that shrinks when you ask for it on paper. Old parts "swapped" and binned before you've seen them — ask to see the old part, always; a straight repairer will already have it in a box for you. And pressure: the deal that expires if you don't agree on the doorstep.

Now run the same tests on us. Fixed price before work: yes, in writing. Invoice on every job: yes. Warranty: 12 months, on this page, in words. Genuine parts, old parts shown to you: yes. Dead-machine verdict with no upsell: it's our named policy, two sections up. A guarantee is only worth the paper it's written on — so we wrote it down.
