North Dublin is one of our busiest rounds, and it has a character all of its own. The housing is largely the classic Dublin mix: red-brick terraces in Drumcondra and Glasnevin, big semi-detached estates in Artane, Raheny and Coolock, and generations of family homes in Finglas, Santry and Beaumont. Across Dublin, 70.7 percent of homes were built before 2001, and the northside lives that statistic: solid houses, machines that work hard for families, and washers that are often on their second decade. Our washing machine repair in Dublin team runs the northside daily, using the M1 and M50 corridors to move between calls.

The water story on the northside
Water hardness on the northside depends on where exactly you live, and we never treat Dublin as one water area. Homes in the west of this patch, around Finglas and Ballymun (D11), are normally supplied by Leixlip, at around 200 mg/L, which is hard water. That means limescale on heating elements, scaled inlet valves and more detergent needed to get clothes clean, with soap residue building up in the drum and drawer. Further east towards Raheny and the coast the supply differs, and we judge each job on its own Eircode and symptoms rather than a blanket claim. If your element has failed or your machine smells despite cleaning, tell us your area and we will talk you through what your supply normally means for the machine, or read our guide to water hardness by Eircode area.
Typical machines and faults in North Dublin homes
Family semis and terraces mean family-sized laundry: school uniforms, work clothes, GAA kits from clubs all over the northside, and bedding washed weekly. The faults follow the workload. Drain pumps fail with filters full of hair, coins and sock lint, as covered in our not draining guide. Door seals perish and leak onto kitchen floors. Bearings rumble on machines doing ten or more loads a week. In the older terraces near the city, machines often sit in small sculleries or under stairs with tight access, which we are well used to. In apartments around Santry and the newer blocks near the M1 corridor, a leak is more urgent: with apartments making up 27 percent of Dublin households, water through a floor is the flat below ceiling, so isolate at the stopcock and call promptly.
Access and parking reality
We know the northside practicalities: permit parking and narrow streets in Drumcondra and Glasnevin on match days near Croke Park, busier still when there is a game on; estate parking in Finglas and Coolock is straightforward; and the M50 and M1 make Santry, Beaumont and Ballymun quick to reach between calls. Tell us about apartment intercoms, side entrances or a machine in an outbuilding when you book and the engineer arrives ready for it.
Booking a northside repair
When you call, have your Eircode, the brand and model of the machine, and any error code on the display ready if you can. A photograph of the rating plate inside the door rim helps us bring the right pump, lock or element on the first visit. Tell us too if the machine sits in a rental, because we can copy the letting agent on the invoice and the written guarantee, which keeps the property file straight for everyone and avoids a second trip just for paperwork.
